Coach hire is the most organised way to move a large group at the same time and on the same schedule with a single vehicle. With a chauffeured coach you do not have to deal with driving, fuel or route planning; you simply tell us where from, where to, when and how many people are travelling.
What does chauffeured coach hire include?
The scope of the service is clarified at the quotation stage according to the type of trip. A typical coach hire plan covers the following:
- Route: Pick-up point, destination and any stops on the way.
- Timing: Departure time, waiting time at the destination and return time.
- Type of use: One-way transfer, round trip, hourly or full-day hire.
- Extra costs: Whether motorway and bridge tolls, parking and, on long programmes, the driver’s accommodation are included in the price.
When each of these items is clearly written in the quote, there are no surprises on the day. We explain what should be included in the price in our guide to quote scope.
Hourly, daily and transfer-based hire
A coach is not always needed just to get “from A to B”. On an event day, the vehicle may collect participants in the morning, wait during the day and take everyone home in the evening; on an excursion, it may visit several places in turn. That is why it is important to tell us before quoting whether the coach will only make a transfer or stay with your group all day. With hourly and daily hire, waiting times and total working hours directly affect the price.
Coach or midibus?
If your whole group fits into one vehicle, a coach is usually the most practical choice. However, if the route includes narrow streets, pick-up points are scattered or the number of passengers is clearly below a coach’s capacity, a minibus or midibus may be better. We assess which vehicle makes more sense together with your passenger numbers and route. For a general comparison, see our guide to choosing a vehicle.
Main factors that determine the price
The price of coach hire is not based on a fixed tariff but on the details of the trip: total distance, how long the vehicle is engaged, the date (especially high season and weekends), waiting and night work, bridge and motorway costs and, on programmes with overnight stays, the driver’s needs. This is why we offer a written quote based on your details instead of a price list. For more, read our pricing guide.
Who is it for?
- Families who want to transport wedding, engagement or special-day guests together
- Associations, clubs and groups organising trips, cultural tours or camps
- Companies transporting participants of meetings, dealer events, congresses and trade fairs
- Anyone planning a one-off group journey between cities
Choosing a vehicle
The passenger capacity of a coach depends on its model and seating layout; the exact figure is the number of seats on the vehicle’s registration. The capacity and luggage space of the vehicle we propose are stated in writing in the quote. If your group does not fit into one vehicle, several vehicles can be coordinated on the same schedule.
