Because it depends on flight times, an airport transfer needs more careful planning than other transport services. Flight delays, baggage reclaim time and the meeting point inside the terminal all have a direct effect on how smoothly the transfer goes.
From the airport to the hotel and back
For arrivals, the transfer is planned around the landing time. For departures, the pick-up time is set by taking into account the flight time, the journey to the airport and the time needed for check-in and security. For group transfers, extra time should be allowed to gather all passengers at the same point.
Flight tracking and waiting
Sharing your flight number when planning the meet-and-greet allows changes to the landing time to be tracked. How waiting time is handled in the event of a delay, and whether there is an extra waiting charge, should be clarified at the quotation stage.
Group airport transfers
Airport transfers for large groups such as congress participants, tour groups or company teams are planned differently from individual transfers: flights landing at different times, a meeting point, the amount of luggage and, if necessary, several vehicles. For a step-by-step plan, read our guide to group airport transfers.
Why luggage matters
For airport transfers, the choice of vehicle is often determined more by luggage than by the number of passengers. On long trips, every passenger may have at least one large suitcase; sports equipment, pushchairs or wheelchairs also need extra space. Stating the number of large suitcases separately in the quote form ensures that the right vehicle is chosen. For calculations, see our luggage capacity guide.
Which airports do you serve?
The airports and routes served depend on the company’s area of operation. Simply write the airport name and terminal in the quote form; your request will be assessed on that basis.
Who is it for?
- Companies welcoming guests, clients or executives
- Arrival and departure transfers for congress, trade fair and event participants
- Tour groups and travel organisers
- Families travelling with luggage
Choosing a vehicle
A VIP vehicle is preferred for 1–2 passengers with little luggage, and a minibus, midibus or coach for larger groups. If there is a lot of luggage, a larger vehicle class or extra luggage space may be needed. For details, see our VIP vehicle and minibus and midibus pages.
