On a trip, transport is the backbone of the programme. The order of the places to visit, the time spent at each and the distances between them determine how the vehicle will be used during the day. Well-planned excursion transport means the group spends its time at the sights, not on the road.
Day trips
Time is limited on day trips, so it is important to order the route efficiently. An early departure, a lunch break and the return time are the fixed points of the plan. Opening hours and parking at the places to visit should be checked in advance. For a practical plan, see our article on day trip transport planning.
Multi-day tours
On tours lasting more than one day, the vehicle and driver travel with the group. Daily driving times, the driver’s rest schedule, accommodation and parking then become part of the plan. The quote should state clearly how the driver’s accommodation and meals are covered.
City tours
On city tours, the vehicle stops frequently, drops the group off and picks them up again at another point. Because large vehicles may face restrictions on stopping and parking in tourist areas, drop-off and pick-up points should be agreed in advance.
Guiding and tour programme
This service covers the transport part of tours and excursions. Package tours, guiding, entrance tickets or accommodation are separate services that fall under the authority of travel agencies. We plan transport for groups and tour organisers who have prepared their own programme.
Who is it for?
- Associations, clubs and groups of friends who prepare their own trip programme
- Tour organisers and travel agencies looking for a transport supplier
- Institutions organising cultural and nature trips
- Visitor groups planning a city tour
Choosing a vehicle
On long days of sightseeing, seat comfort and air conditioning become important; on mountain and village roads, the size of the vehicle may be decisive. Depending on your group, we recommend a coach or a midibus or minibus.
